[ October 2, 2014   //   ]

Kuehne + Nagel launched construction of a new logistics centre in the west of Singapore with a ground-breaking ceremony on 1 October. Close to major manufacturers and ports, it will have 55 loading bays and five floors dedicated to storage, with a total warehouse floor area of over 46,000 sqm. Of this, 20,000 sqm will be used as a cold storage zone for pharmaceuticals.

The remaining space will cater predominately for aerospace, spare parts and hi-tech products, and a further 4,000sq m will be allocated to offices.

The facility will be equipped with advanced technology, automation and robotisation solutions to help improve workflow processes, reduce time required to pick, pack and ship items.

The multi-user facility, expected to open in late 2015 is being designed to Green Mark Platinum and LEED Gold environmental standards.
