Box haulier opens Felixstowe site

[ November 10, 2017   //   ]

Container haulage company James Kemball has opened a new loaded container storage depot at the port of Felixstowe with initial capacity of over 1,600 boxes.

The five-acre site at Clickett Hill Road will operate from 06.00 Monday – 05.00 Saturday and extend to Saturday mornings in the New Year.

Four new members of staff have already been recruited and the company plans to build this to a team of ten over the coming year.

It has also invested in Kalmar reachstackers, offering Felixstowe’s largest container weight lifting capacity outside the port itself. The new depot includes a one acre plot for further development and could provide tailored warehousing facilities for James Kemball clients.

Commercial director, Darren Walne said: “Not only will it help us to grow our client base but will provide a fantastic new service for current clients and the ability for them to streamline their supply chain and reduce their quay storage costs.

Depot manager Andy Tattersall added: “We are immensely proud of our long-standing relationships with our customers and this depot will set new standards of excellence in how we operate, the equipment we use and how we utilise our strongest assets, our people, to provide exceptional customer service in an environmentally friendly and, importantly, safe environment.”
