Buckerfield goes to Toll

Hong Kong headquartered Toll Global Forwarding has appointed Steve Buckerfield as its UK managing director.His 28 years in the freight industry started as an export clerk at Emery Worldwide, followed by a stint at American Airlines from 1990 until 2004 culminating in his appointment as managing director, sales – Europe. He then worked for freight forwarding and logistics providers Walker Freight (later CH Robinson) and, most recently, OHL – where he was senior vice-president sales for its EMEA region.

In his new post at TGF, he will assume responsibility for over 400 staff at 15 locations at Toll’s UK operation, the largest in its EMEA region. He commented:   “Toll UK has recently completed the integration of the Genesis and WT businesses acquired in 2010. We now have a cohesive structure with impressive resources and capabilities, backed by an expanding global network.” Toll’s managing director for EMEA, Hakan Bicil paid tribute to Buckerfield’s impressive freight industry experience and success to date.
