Dunkerque to ‘reconquer’ its markets

[ November 28, 2014   //   ]

Dunkerque wants to reconquer its natural hinterland in the container sector, the northern French port said in its strategic plan published on 26 November. At the same time, it will develop secure and temperature-controlled logistics, optimise consolidated transport and put in place the tools for successful development of container traffic. It also wants to become a redistribution port for solid bulks and shortsea shipping from deepsea lines, as well as setting up an LNG provisioning complex. This plan sets out the Port’s development policy for the next five years, following on from the first strategic plan of 2009-2013 and also prepares for longer-term projects.
