Palletways Iberia celebrates 12th birthday with volume record

Palletways Iberia says it has recruited a record number of new members and seen significant growth in volumes during the 12 years since starting it activities in the region.

The network has three hubs across the Peninsula and 67 members with the recent addition new recruits in Barcelona, Madrid and Portugal. The network’s latest hub in Jaen has tripled its daily volume of pallet movements. The Zaragoza hub, which has recently been internationalised, has helped improve transit times and operational efficiency for traffic to Southern Europe. The Alcalá de Henares, Madrid hub is the network’s current headquarters.

The network has also invested in the Palletways Archway Scanning System with a second scanner recently installed in Madrid. The scanning system photographs every pallet as it enters the hub, eliminating missing pallets, damage and theft.

Palletways Iberia also recently introduced a new mega-truck which has a 40-ton capacity, almost double the 24-ton capacity of existing vehicles. It will move freight from Zaragoza to Madrid and

Palletways Group chief operating officer, Luis Zubialde, said: “When Palletways entered the Iberian market 12 years ago, we started by moving just 190 pallets on the first night. Today, the network moves more than 4,000 pallets a day, a figure that clearly demonstrates our commitment to delivering an impressive service and developing the confidence of our clients over the years.”
