Gove to address Get Ready for Brexit conference next week

[ November 20, 2020   //   ]

Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster Michael Gove will be the keynote speaker at Logistics UK’s Get Ready for Brexit virtual conference on Wednesday 25 November next week.

The half day event will help hauliers understand what they need to do to be ready to operate effectively from 1 January 2021.

Other speakers at the event will provide practical advice on all the key issues which could affect hauliers moving goods to and from Europe via a combination of presentations, panel sessions and group discussion. These will include customs controls and procedures, GVMS and other new IT systems, traffic management in Kent, and trade to and from GB and Northern Ireland.

Chief Executive of Logistics UK, David Wells, said: “We have been working closely with Mr Gove and his team for many months to ensure that the concerns of the logistics sector have been taken into account as the country forges a new trading relationship with the EU. His presence at this conference acknowledges the work which we have done with government to help our members prepare for the new business processes that will be in place from 1 January 2021.  We look forward to hearing what he has to say, and any guidance he can provide for members as we approach the end of the year.

“Around 200,000 UK businesses currently trade with Europe, and it is vital that their supply chains are protected, to ensure the future prosperity of UK PLC.  The clock may be running down, but there is still time for businesses across the supply chain to prepare for the new trading situation, and  help to smooth the future passage of goods and services with our largest trading partner from the start of the New Year.”

Places at the Get Ready for Brexit event can be booked now, priced £155 + VAT for Logistics UK members / £195 + VAT for non-members here:
