Sun shines on ABP plans

[ December 7, 2017   //   ]

ABP says it could become one of the biggest corporate solar power producers in the UK after it announced plans to build a further 20MW of solar arrays.

Ultimately ABP’s 21 ports could house 100,000 solar panels generating up to 22.4m kWh of electricity each year – enough to boil more than 1.12 billion kettles.

The solar arrays will mainly be added to the roofs of ABP’s 1.4 million sq m of covered storage space across the ports. One scheme covering 23,000 sq m on multiple warehouses at Immingham, Britain’s biggest port, will become one of the UK’s largest rooftop solar installations when the project is complete in 2018.
