Ocean Alliance sets out service plans

Members of the new Ocean Alliance – COSCO, CMA CGM, Evergreen and OOCL – have set out their service plans when the new grouping starts operations in April next year.

They will be branded as the ‘Day One’ network, deploying around 350 ships with capacity of 3.5 million teu and include Europe/Asia, Transatlantic, Transpacific services, Asia/Mediterranean services, Asia/Middle East and Asia/Red Sea services.

Routes with calls in the UK include a route between China and Felixstowe (first call inbound, last call outbound); China via Piraeus and Antwerp to Felixstowe, then Hamburg, Rotterdam and –Southampton via Piraeus to China; China to Southampton (first call) then via North Continental ports back to China; and Kaohsiung, Ningbo, Shanghai, Taipei, Yantian and Colombo to Rotterdam, Felixstowe and return via North Continent.

There is also one Transatlantic service calling at Southampton, then via North Continent to New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston and back to Southampton.
