Emirates signs ‘groundbreaking’ deal with Cargolux

Emirates SkyCargo has signed a strategic operational partnership with Luxembourg all-cargo carrier Cargolux - described as the first between a mainline airline and a specialised freighter operator. Emirates will get access to Cargolux’s Boeing 747F capacity, which will give it continued access to noseloading planes which can carry heavier cargoes, compared with its own fleet of 777 freighters and bellyhold capacity. South London sees air cargo surge

South London’s Gatwick airport says growth in long-haul routes led it to a 27.2% surge in cargo traffic in April, to 7,142 tonnes, compared with April 2016’s 5,615 tonnes in. For the 12 months to April 2017, the increase was 20%, to 82,666 tonnes.   [+]

British Airways brand owner IAG Cargo has launched a new loyalty programme for small and medium sized forwarders. FWD.Rewards awards points to shippers when they use the carrier, which can be redeemed for passenger flights, hotel stays or cargo credit. [+]
