It’s all up in the air, says charter expert

[ January 18, 2019   //   ]

UK licences, certifications and access for UK operators to the EU internal air transport market would become invalid, in the event of a Hard Brexit on 29 March, says Bob Simmons, technical director at Baines Simmons, part of the training and consultancy division of charter company, Air Partner. In such an event, new bilateral Air Transport Agreements would have be put in place
Current approvals would need to be put on a Third Country basis and there is likely to be a significant surge in applications following a ‘Hard Brexit’, a significant risk to business, he says.
However, if the politicians do manage to negotiate a deal, including possibly a transitional period, there would be no need to panic, he adds.
