Neele-Vat Logistics to buy Mammoet

Rotterdam-based logistics service provider and forwarder Neele-Vat Logistics is to buy Mammoet Ferry Transport, which has operations in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Austria.

The move will strengthen Neele-Vat’s position in European road transport, and in particular the UK market. It has offices in Preston Brook in England and Cambuslang (Scotland), along with Rotterdam, Zeebrugge (Belgium), Duisburg (Germany), Ansfelden (Austria), Mammoet Ferry Transport is particularly strong in transport to and from the UK.

Mammoet Ferry Transport and its 70 employees will continue to operate independently under its own name within the Neele-Vat group. The management remains unchanged and the takeover has no consequences to contracts for existing staff.

Mammoet Ferry Transport managing director Krijn Torreman said: “Together with Neele-Vat we can better facilitate our customers in their growth and logistical requirements, and we can offer a more extensive network of international branches to the customers of Neele-Vat, providing the opportunity to use our services in the countries in which we operate.”

Following the takeover, family run Neele-Vat Logistics will have 900 employees, 20 branches in 10 countries, 250,000sq m warehouse space and a turnover of €300 million.
