NYK introduces ‘space surcharge’

is introducing a US$150/250 per 20’/40’ Space Freight Premium (SFP)on Europe to Asia Eastbound bookings due to the “extraordinary surge” in bookings from 15 April. It will apply on all routes between North Europe/ Mediterranean / East Med/ Adriatic/Black Sea and Asia / Oceania / Indian Sub-continent /Middle East and Gulf. On 23 March, maersk Line introduced a total ban on eastbound bookings due to a severe backlog of traffic.
