[ July 9, 2012   //   ]

Businesses need specialised freight management solutions to negotiate the tangled web of freight service costs, according to a new white paper by software developer AEB. Carrier terms and conditions have varying price calculation models with all sorts of cost factors and service types that few can comprehend. The lack of transparency and comparability among tariffs makes freight cost calculations time-consuming and error-prone, states the document, entitled: ‘Navigating the Price Maze: Smart Freight Cost Calculation.’ The problems are exacerbated by tight deadlines, it adds.

The paper satys that freight management solutions can manage tariffs, rate schedules, and agreements of the different forwarders and allow companies to calculate freight costs for any scenario.

The paper also includes tips on what to look for when choosing the right solution
