DP World offers Africa auto solution

DP World has launched a logistics and market-entry service for car makers in sub-Saharan Africa, projected to be among the fastest-growing automotive markets globally.

Its turnkey solution includes nationwide distribution to most dealerships within 24 to 48 hours, a digital dealer portal offering SKU (Stock Keeping Unit)-level inventory visibility, real-time tracking, automated ordering and integrated payments.

It was piloted with Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer Foton Motor, to set up an aftermarket operation in South Africa, including warehousing, nationwide distribution, regulatory compliance and digital dealer enablement.
