Germans capture a corner of West Lancashire
[ June 11, 2025 // Chris Lewis ]Garbe Industrial Real Estate has acquired a site of nearly 49,000sq m in Skelmersdale, north-east of Liverpool, earmarked for the development of a 23,000sq m logistics centre.
The site lies within sight of the M58 motorway with the slip road entrance practically next door and it is minutes away from Junction 26 of the M6.
Country head and managing director of the German-owned property company, Chris Hornung, commented: “Logistics facilities in this size bracket are in extremely short supply in the Liverpool Manchester, Birmingham triangle. It was very reassuring for us that we managed to secure this prime property.”
The property will have 18 dock levellers and three overhead sectional doors at ground level for loading and unloading trucks.
Photovoltaic roof panels will be installed on top of the building and full planning consent for this site has already been secured.
