DHL opens Halle hub

DHL Supply Chain has opened a logistics centre in Halle, its third in the area. It is integrated into the broader DHL Leipzig-Halle Campus, offering a warehouse area of 34,000sq m and capacity for up to 55,000 pallets. It includes three operational halls, each of 10,500sq m with 27 loading docks. It is built to meet DGNB Gold sustainability standards with photovoltaic systems and LED lighting. The site currently employs more than 450 people, with an additional 100 jobs to be created once the extension building is fully utilized. The facility has access to the national DHL parcel and express network, the rail and highway network, and the Leipzig-Halle freight airport , DHL Express’s largest air freight hub for global air cargo.
