APM to upgrade Chittagong terminal
[ November 24, 2025 // Chris Lewis ]APM Terminals has signed a concession agreement with Chittagong Port Authority to develop Laldia Container Terminal in Chattogram, Bangladesh. The US$550 millio project allows APMT to operate for 30 years, which can be extended based on KPIs (key performance indicators). The new terminal will be fully designed, financed, built and operated by the investors – a first-of-its-kind model for Bangladesh’s port infrastructure. Once operational in 2030, it will expand Bangladesh’s annual port handling capacity by over 800,000 TEUs and over time Chattogram to handle vessels up to 6,000TEU, compared to the current limit of 2,800 TEU.
