Arvato held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new 40,000sq m logistics hub in Çayırova near Istanbul, Türkiye on 8 December. The new warehouse, which is scheduled to go into operation in October 2026, is the logistics operator’s 11th operations centre in the country.

“While we are continuing to expand our operational capabilities in Türkiye, the new site will significantly enhance Arvato’s storage and operational capacity for e commerce and retail brands and open new potential for additional growth,” explains Umur Özkal, Managing Director Türkiye and UAE at Arvato.

Arvato describes the facility as a European-standard logistics center developed from the ground up that meets European Type A Big Box standards.

Storage can be tailored to the individual needs of brands and has advanced security protocols, monitoring and access-control systems as well as specialized conditioned storage areas for different product segments.

Developed in line with Arvato’s global Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) vision, the new site combines high standards in environmental sustainability, operational efficiency, and employee well-being. It generates renewable energy through a rooftop integrated solar power plant and optimizes natural resource usage with an advanced rainwater harvesting system. Energy-efficient lighting and climate-control technologies significantly reduce the overall carbon footprint, while modern, ergonomic workspaces prioritize comfort and well-being.

Managing director Türkiye and UAE, Umur Özkal, said: “While we are continuing to expand our operational capabilities in Türkiye, the new site will significantly enhance Arvato’s storage and operational capacity for e commerce and retail brands and open new potential for additional growth.

“Through this strategic investment, Arvato aims to contribute to Türkiye’s growing potential as a modern logistics hub while further expanding the value-added services we provide to our business partners.”
