Geodis takes the long view of trucking
[ December 10, 2025 // Chris Lewis ]French forwarding and logistics company Geodis has acquired 12 additional trailer and tractor units, following recent changes in Spanish legislation that liberalizes the use of Euro-modular duotrailers on designated routes.
The tractors have a power rating of 640hp; powerful enough to haul two duotrailers measuring 32 meters and carrying a cargo payload of up to 72 tonnes. The net reduction in CO₂ emissions in comparison with the equivalent traditional trailer units as a result is over 30%.
Geodis will deploy these duotrailers to service clients in the paper, steel and automotive industries.
Following a resolution by Spain’s Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT) on 21 October, duotrailers can now operate without prior authorization, provided they meet specific technical requirements and remain within a defined road network.
