Speed with safety for Turkish port

[ January 15, 2026   //   ]

DP World Evyap has taken delivery of three new remote-controlled quay cranes at its Körfez terminal in Türkiye. The cranes were shipped from Shanghai and are now in service following commissioning.

The cranes are operated remotely from control centres which makes for a safer and more comfortable working environment for employees. They are equipped with advanced collision avoidance sensors and the remote-controlled cranes also reduce the number of pedestrians in the terminal area.

The cranes will increase operational capacity at the Körfez terminal to 800,000TEU per year.

In 2023, DP World Yarımca became the first port in Türkiye to integrate remote-controlled electrified cranes as part of its ‘Zero Tolerance’ safety project. The experience gained at Yarımca is now being applied at Körfez.
