DP World is to manage a new 120,000sq m facility in Ostrava, Czechia for BMW Group.

The logistics hub, within the Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park, is DP World’s first automotive centre in the country. It will provide an integrated solution for the car-maker including all inbound, storage and outbound logistics.

DP World global account director, Tobias Fenzl, said: “At DP World we firmly believe in the strength and potential of the European automotive industry, and this significant investment in Ostrava reaffirms our commitment. The new site extends our long-standing partnership with BMW Group and underlines the quality of our global logistics solutions.”

Country Manager, Czechia, Robert Sgariboldi, added: “This project, which will create over 750 jobs, represents a key milestone for DP World in Czechia and is a further statement of our capabilities in the region.”

It follows the recent opening of BMW Group’s new manufacturing plant in Debrecen, Hungary, where DP World was also chosen to deliver integrated logistics operations.
