New chief for IRU

The International Road Transport Union (IRU) has appointed Habib Turki as its next secretary general, from 1 August. He will succeed Umberto de Pretto. Habib Turki previously served as IRU’s Regional Adviser for the Middle East from 2015 to 2018 before joining the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, where he was promoted to chief development officer in 2024.
