Two more car ships for Sallaum Lines
[ June 15, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]Sallaum Lines has ordered two 8,6000CEU pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs) from Xiamen Shipbuilding, the two largest vessels in its history, with an option for a further two similar vessels. It follows the recent delivery of Sallaum Lines’ newest LNG dual-fuel ships
Each PCTC will be 199.9 long, a beam of 38 meters and, with five liftable decks, are designed to accommodate a broad cargo mix. They will operate on Sallaum Lines Europe, the Americas, Africa and Middle East routes. They will have dual-fuel engines able to operate on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) and Marine Gas Oil (MGOand could be converted to operate on green ammonia.
