More than a pipe dream for King’s Lynn

[ June 19, 2026   //   ]

Associated British Ports (ABP) has invested £150,000 in two new vacuum lifting attachments for large pipes in King’s Lynn.

They reduce the need for manual handling and improve load stability during lifting operations. They also allow faster loading and unloading of cargoes and improve precision when placing loads, which reduces vessel  turnaround times.

ABP completed its first operation using the new attachments on 13 June 2026 with a consignment of water pipes to help upgrade national infrastructure.
