Rhenus hooks up with China’s Cosco
[ June 24, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]German forwarder Rhenus Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers for a strategic partnership at Rhenus Cuxport in Cuxhaven, Germany. It aims to combine Rhenus’ port expertise with Cosco’ shipping expertise and fleet of over 200 vessels.
The companies will provide transport services for shared customers and develop integrated solutions at the Cuxhaven terminal for breakbulk, automobiles, heavy lift and special cargo.
Rhenus will contribute its terminals, warehouses, inbound and outbound rail connections, shuttle barge feeder routes, and transportation fleets in Cuxhaven. The partnership also allows Rhenus Project Logistics to offer new integrated logistics solutions to address increasingly complex customer requirements.Rhenus board member Andreas Stöckli, said: “By combining our expertise in project cargo, heavy lift and specialized transport solutions with our partner’s broadly diversified vessel fleet, we will sustainably expand route connections and terminal capacities over the long term.”
