[ July 3, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]The CMA CGM Notre Dame was named in Le Havre, the latest vessel in the CMA CGM fleet, the largest container vessel operating under the French flag and the largest LNG-powered box ship in the world. She is nearly 400 metres long, 61 metres wide and has a capacity of up to 24,000 TEU.
She will be the first in a build of ten next-generation containerships that are larger, more efficient and will all be registered under the French flag.
By 2028, CMA CGM’s French-flagged fleet will increase from 30 to 40 vessels. To support this expansion, the Group will recruit 135 French seafarers.
Delphine Arnault, chairman and chief executive of Christian Dior Couture, was the ship’s godmother at the ceremony.
