CSG eliminates double-duty for outdoor gear firm

[ July 9, 2026   //   ]

Customs Support Group (CSG) has partnered with Port Glasgow-based outdoor goods firm AMG to cut the duty it paid on re-exported goods.

The company primarily imports from Asia into the UK, before distributing across the UK and Europe. However, following the UK’s departure from the European Union, it found itself paying double duty and items which previously attracted duties of 12% were paying a further 12% on re-export.

To overcome this issue, CSG implemented a customs warehouse solution allowing AMG to store goods without immediately paying import duties, with no charge levied if the goods are then re-exported. It has worked with AMG for three years on compliance, including administering entries into declarant records, supplementary declarations, managing UCR allocation, verifying shipment documentation and overseeing duty-suspended stock movements through to final dispatch.
