Swedes triumph in the other World Cup

The Transaid Cup football competition raised over £24,000 on Thursday 9 July, bringing together companies from across the transport and logistics sector.

Jointly hosted by Transaid corporate members Libra Europe and Microlise, the popular seven-a-side tournament at Ilkeston Town F.C. saw 15 companies brave the sweltering heat on one of the warmest days of the year. Additional sponsorship pcame from Iron Mountain and Michelin.

Truck-maker Scania were crowned champions, after defeating Iron Mountain in a very close final.

The funds raised will support Transaid’s life-saving road safety and access to healthcare work across sub-Saharan Africa.
