Associated British Ports (ABP) welcomed the Glovis Lighthouse to Southampton on 14 July, the largest vehicle carrier to call and one of the largest and newest vessels of its type in the world.

The vessel arrived at Southampton’s Solent Gateway on its maiden voyage and first port call in Europe.

She has a capacity for 10,800 car equivalent units (CEU), is 230 metres long and 40 metres beam. The dual-fuel vessel is capable of operating on liquefied natural gas and is expected to reduce carbon emissions by almost a quarter.
