[ August 20, 2026   //   ]

Hapag-Lloyd has signed an agreement with APM Terminals to acquire a 25% stake in the latter’s Maasvlakte II facility in Rotterdam. The German line will secure long-term automated terminal capacity under its Hanseatic Global Terminals arm. APM Terminals will retain operational control of Maasvlakte II.
The 11-year old terminal is currently being expanded with additional 1,000 meters of deep-sea berth, bringing the total deep-sea berth length to 2,000 meters, as well as additional yard capacity, four extra rail tracks and automated equipment, expected to boost its annual capacity to 5.4 million TEU.
