Passports required for ferries to Ireland from 28 September
[ August 26, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]From Monday 28 September all ferry passengers, including freight drivers, travelling between Holyhead and Dublin or Fishguard and Rosslare will now need to show their passport on departure. No other forms of ID will be accepted. All passengers will be required to show their passport or passport card, regardless of age or nationality. The change is being introduced to meet the requirements of the UK Border Force. The requirement does not apply to routes between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
