FTA Ireland offers practical pathways to safer, cleaner transport
[ September 10, 2026 // Chris Lewis ]FTA Ireland will bring together government, industry and transport leaders at its Sustainable Transport Seminar 2026 on Wednesday, 16 September at The Johnstown Estate, Enfield, west of Dublin.
Recognised as an official EU Ireland Presidency Associated Event, the seminar will connect Ireland’s transport experience with wider European priorities on decarbonisation, competitiveness, innovation and resilient supply chains, while maintaining a strong focus on practical solutions for operators.
Minister of State at the Department of Transport Seán Canney will deliver the keynote address, while broadcaster and comedian Colm O’Regan will act as Master of Ceremonies.
The event will also feature the launch of FTA Ireland’s Manager’s Guide to Distribution Costs Report 2026 and The Coillte Decarbonisation Log Haulage Report which addresses one of road freight’s most challenging heavy-haulage and hard-to-abate activities.
FTA Ireland chief executive Niall Cotton said: “Transport operators are managing significant change. They must reduce emissions, improve safety, control costs and adopt new technologies while continuing to deliver reliable and competitive services.
“This seminar is designed to help operators respond in a practical and informed way. It brings policymakers, industry leaders and technical experts together to share experience, identify workable solutions and examine what is needed to build a safer, cleaner and more resilient transport sector.
