[ October 8, 2026   //   ]

DFDS’ agreement to acquire Naviera Armas’ Strait of Gibraltar Algeciras-Tangier Med ferry operations has been approved by the Spanish and Moroccan competition authorities. Thee transaction includes a ro-pax vessel with 1,414 lane meters of freight capacity, expected to join DFDS’s existing two vessels on the route from Mid-November. Around 200 employees will transfer to DFDS. However, DFDS will not acquire the Algeciras-Ceuta service due to conditions imposed by the Spanish competition authority.
