Stena to buy Norway’s Color Line

Group Stena, owner of ferry operator Stena Line, has agreed to acquire Norwegian shipping company Color Line from Norwegian industrialist Olav Nils Sunde and his family, subject to regulatory approval.

Following completion, Stena intends that Color Line to continue as a separate, independent business and brand, with local management in Norway and Norwegian-registered ships. However, Stena will use its expertise develop Color Line, including decarbonization, technology and digitalization, customer service and logistics.

The agreement will not affect sailings, bookings or ongoing customer and supplier relationships.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the proposed transaction which is expected to be completed towards by mid-2027.
