A bespoke supply chain for high-end retailer

Arvato Supply Chain Solutions has signed an agreement with fashion and lifestyle brand GUESS to provide logistics services at a warehouse centre in Jasin near Poznań, Poland.

It will use the 20,000sq m dedicated space to perform business-to-consumer channel services, shipping individual clients’ orders to Europe and beyond. It will also provide business-to-business shipments.

In the first year, Arvato will employ around 100 people, doubling during peak seasons. Services provided include warehousing, picking and packing, returns management, and value added services for products including clothing, handbags, footwear and accessories. All operations are based on the Arvato’s SAP system, customized for the client’s needs.

GUESS European logistics director, Marcello De Melgazzi said: “This strengthens the omnichannel service in Northeast Europe and ensures distribution capacity for the next few years.”

Managing director at Arvato Supply Chain Solutions in Poland, Lidia Ratajczak-Kluck, added: “We are very pleased with the fact that another international brand from the fashion industry that dynamically develops online sales has decided to diversify its logistics operations and entrust the service of this demanding sector to our company.”

The project was launched under in very difficult circumstances, due to the Covid pandemic but modern communication methods, following safety rules, and the efforts of an implementation experienced team ensured a smooth start, she added.

GUESS designs, markets, distributes and licenses a lifestyle collection  of contemporary apparel, denim, handbags, watches, eyewear, footwear and other related consumer products, distributed through its own branded outlets as well as high-end department and specialist around the world. It directly operates over 1,050 retail stores in the Americas, Europe and Asia while its partners and distributors run a further 558 worldwide, in around 100 countries.
