Ruslan International and German charter broker Karpeles Flight Services – part of DB Schenker – have moved a British-built AgustaWestland AW101 helicopter from the UK to Africa. It flew under its own power from AgustaWestland’s Yeovil factory to London Stansted Airport, where technicians dismantled it ready for loading. The AN-124 was positioned partially inside the hangar to protect the helicopter from the weather, and then flew it to destination which has not been officially disclosed. However, according to the http://www.defenceweb.co.za website in August that the Nigerian Air Force was take delivery of two helicopters of the same type for VIP transport duties.
