A high time with High Tide

[ June 16, 2017   //   ]

Ten Teesside secondary school students got the chance to experience life on the ocean wave thanks to the PD Ports and Casper Shipping-sponsored High Tide Foundation.

They took part in a five-day voyage up the east coast of the UK supported by Ocean Youth Trust and Moore Stephens, departing last month from South Shields aboard the James Cook, a 21 metre, 54 tonne steel-hulled ketch.

High Tide general manager, High Tide Foundation commented: “One of the most important skills the youngsters have learnt over the years from this trip is independence. Some of these individuals have never made a hot drink or slept away from home before so this experience provides something very valuable.”
