AD Ports to run Upper Egypt bulk terminal

AD Ports Group has signed a 30-year concession agreement with the Red Sea Ports Authority to develop and operate a multi-purpose port in Safaga in Egypt. Due to go into operation in the second quarter of 2025, it will be the first internationally operated port in Upper Egypt and will have an area of about 810,000sq m. It will have the capacity to handle 5 million tonnes of dry bulk and general cargo, 1 million tonnes of liquid bulk, 450,000teu and 50,000ceu of ro ro traffic. AD Ports Group will invest up to US$200 million in superstructure and equipment, buildings, and other real estate facilities and utilities’ network inside the concession area.
