Air France KLM chief quits

Air France-KLM chief executive  Pierre-Henri Gourgeon resigned on 17 October. Current chairman  Jean-Cyril Spinetta will take over the role he relinquished to  Gourgeon in 2009, while former KLM president and CEO Leo Van Wijk becomes group deputy CEO. The joint French-Dutch carrier is facing mounting losses and is grappling with surging costs and competition.
