Airfreight on the up in South Yorks
[ April 10, 2014 // Chris ]One of the UK’s newest air gateways, Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield has increased its cargo throughput by 23% between April 2013 and March 2014. Cargo manager, Dayle Hauxwell, said: “The growth is excellent and continued evidence that the airport’s cargo terminal is enhancing its reputation around the world. The amount of freight being transported has increased significantly compared with two years ago and this can only be positive news for the Airport and the regional economy.
Gary Winterman, managing director of local handler Anglo World Cargo, added: “More and more companies are looking at Doncaster Sheffield Airport to distribute their products around the world. We have the means and capabilities to help them achieve that successfully.
The cargo terminal has 55,000sq ft of operational space and has a full range of equipment and facilities capable of handling any aircraft and its 2,893m runway allows it to handle some of the lartgest aircraft in the world.
