[ May 12, 2014   //   ]

Mitteldeutsche Airport Holding, owners of Leipzig/Halle Airport, signed a cooperation arrangement will China’s Henan Province Airport Group on 8 May. It aims to develop air freight flights together and strengthen their airports as central hubs for the distribution of flows of goods between China and Europe.

Chairman of the Henan Province Airport Group, An Huiyuan said: “We selected Leipzig/Halle, because we value the airport’s central location, its outstanding intermodal transport links and its unrestricted operating times.” With its 24-hour operating permit, in contrast to other airports with restricted operating times, the German airport is seen as an ideal hub for central Europe.
