Allport and Palletforce join EV Cargo grouping

[ November 23, 2018   //   ]

Equity investor EmergeVest has brought six freight and logistics companies, including Allport Cargo Services and the Palletforce network into EV Cargo, described as the largest privately-owned logistics business in the UK with revenues totalling £850 million. Other companies in the group are supply chain software specialist Adjuno, and logistics firms CM Downton, Jigsaw and NFT.

Founded in 2013, EmergeVest believes that EV Cargo will create new synergies and opportunities for the combined business and its stakeholders. It says that the six companies are acknowledged experts in their respective fields with deep logistics heritage, strong recognition and market goodwill. Each brand will retain its own identity.

EV Cargo has four main operating segments: Express, Global Forwarding, Logistics and Technology. EV Cargo says it will adopt a “cargo-centric” approach, focussing on customer needs across the entire supply chain by bringing together the best people, processes, technology and networks.

A key benefit will be new opportunities for employees with enhanced career development paths across the group.

The EV Cargo executive board will be led by EmergeVest founder Heath Zarin (pictured) as chief executive officer, supported by chief strategy officer Simon Pearson, general counsel Mark Davis and the chief executives of the four main operating segments.

Heath Zarin, said: “We are excited to announce the creation of EV Cargo, bringing together our UK logistics and technology platform into a unified £850 million corporate structure. EV Cargo will continue our existing strategy of delivering mission-critical supply chain services powered by people, technology, innovation and sustainability.”
