An Eddie truck could have your name on it

[ June 1, 2019   //   ]

Eddie Stobart Logistics is to raise money for transport charity Transaid by donating the naming rights of one of its trucks at a charity auction at Multimodal 2019.

The auction will be held during the Multimodal Awards ceremony on Tuesday 18 June, the first evening of the Multimodal show, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC from 18-20 June 2019.

The winning bidder and one lucky business card raffle winner will skip the usual four-year waiting list to name an Eddie Stobart tractor unit. “Transaid does outstanding work which makes a real difference to people’s lives, and the Eddie Stobart team are proud to be helping them in their mission,” says Eddie Stobart’s communications manager, Julie Daintith.

Transaid works to provide safe and available transport through improving the quality of driver training in Africa, and improving access for rural communities to health services by strengthening transport systems.

“Eddie Stobart trucks are famous for having female-only first names and with a four-year waiting list for the honour of naming them, it’s an incredible money-can’t-buy opportunity for us to be chosen,” said Transaid’s head of fundraising, Florence Bearman. “(We hope) the bidders will be very generous.”

Eddie Stobart has a dedicated Special Operations sector that specialises in Formula 1 transport, and a Williams F1 racing car will also be on show at the Eddie Stobart stand.

“It is the exhibitors that make Multimodal dynamic and exciting, creating an event that is ideal for building connections and growing businesses,” said Rob Jervis, Logistics Portfolio Director, Clarion Events.

“I would like to thank Eddie Stobart and all of our exhibitors for taking part and making Multimodal the UK and Ireland’s biggest logistics exhibition.”

Naming rights to a second Scania R-cab R450 will be raffled on Wednesday 19 June at 6.30pm, and visitors can enter by dropping off their business cards at the Eddie Stobart stand.
