An uplifting tale

[ September 28, 2021   //   ]

No, Solent Stevedores hasn’t taken the latest logistics industry drive to attract young people to extremes – the cargo handler has named some of its new machinery after its employees’ children.

Some £2.4 million of new equipment including three new Kalmar Reach Stackers and 10 Terberg Tugs will carry the names Poppy, Ella Louise and Emily May.

The firm says that its family values inspired it to name the top-of-the-range machinery after some of the children of its employees.

Company director Tom Dynes, said: “Having the names of the next generation of Solent Stevedores emblazoned on the machinery is a fitting nod to our strong family-run company values.”
