Andrew Baxter marks ten years at Europa

[ August 15, 2023   //   ]

Europa Worldwide Group is celebrating ten years since its acquisition by Andrew Baxter. He acquired Europa in August 2013, following the sale of Baxter family owned RH Freight to Kuehne & Nagel. Then, the company employed just 400 people at nine UK branches and one international site in Hong Kong. Today, the business turns over £302m, an increase of 400 per cent and employs more than 1,400 people across 30 sites globally.

The company’s development including the £30 million Dartford 1Hub and centralising road freight service on one rather than two hubs, closing the existing site at Erith and transforming Birmingham from an international to a logistics site.

Europa’s bespoke IT infrastructure Leonardo was launched in 2016, while Europa Warehouse’s £60m, 100,000-pallet 3PL facility in Corby was opened in 2020.

Post-Brexit, Europa also developed the Europa Flow concept in 2021, a Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) service that zero-rates VAT and ensure that duty is paid all whilst goods cross the channel so that goods are in free circulation by the time they arrive in Calais.
