[ June 27, 2018   //   ]

The Railport Antwerp joint initiative between the port authority, the Left Bank Development Corporation and the industry associations Essenscia Vlaanderen and VOKA-Alfaport, is to expand its activities with the aim of doubling the proportion of rail transport in the port of Antwerp over the next few years. It has also appointed Nils van Vliet as chief executive. With rail currently accounting for less than 7% of freight transport in the port, Railport Antwerp will coordinate activities and act as a link between the rail transport operators, the rail infrastructure operator, port companies, shippers and terminals.
