Antwerp to run Benin Port

[ January 2, 2018   //   ]

Port of Antwerp International (PAI), the consultancy and investment arm of the Belgian port authority, is to manage the port of Cotonou on a temporary basis. PAI’s main task will be to modernise its organisation, renovate obsolescent facilities and prepare for and guide the expansion of the port,, which currently handles around 12 million tonnes a year. PAI is now seeking to recruit eight expats who will carry out the task on the ground including chief executive and a chief financial officer, but will also organise management training courses for local managers, to prepare them for a gradual transfer of key functions.
