Cutting ship speeds could reduce maritime emissions by around 15%, according to a new report by consultants CE Delft. The report, ‘Regulated slow steaming in maritime transport’ says that if global average maritime speeds were reduced by 10%, carbon dioxide savings would rise to 19%, even taking into account the cost of building and operating new ships to make up for lost capacity.

Norbert Dentressangle said its Freight Forwarding activities reached breakeven this year, two years after it was launched. New acquisitions TDG and APC Beijing International both made a positive contribution to profitability, it added.
