[ May 27, 2021   //   ]

Nottingham-based Baxter Freight has made seven internal promotions to facilitate a recruitment drive to increase employee numbers by almost a third to over 100.

It has appointed Lorraine Sutcliffe as director, head of HR to spearhead expansion plans including an organisational restructure.

The sales department grows with three internal promotions: Rebecca Boulter to the new role of team leader, key accounts; and Max Stanford and Ben Jeffery become team managers, customer relations.

In operations, Tom Falivena becomes team leader, customs, and Wade Akhtar team leader, groupage. This will also see the business becoming operational 24 hours a day as part of the business’ adjustment to the post-Brexit logistics industry.

Lottie Baxter is promoted to team leader, marketing and communications, and Lorraine Sutcliffe is also recruiting roles into the HR and finance teams.

Managing director, Peter Isler, commented: “Last year we expanded our office by an additional 5,000 sq ft ahead of our planned growth, and we’re excited to see our new capacity begin to fill in the coming months, watching how our business will grow and evolve over the next year.”
