BDP sets up project arm
[ June 13, 2012 // Chris ]Freight forwarder BDP International is now offering customised logistics solutions for construction, mining, power generation, chemical and other infrastructure projects at its office in Dartford, Kent.
The US-owned company now has heavy-lift capabilities, which previously were handled by our offices in Antwerp and Nuremberg and has already handled a 500-ton shipment of turbines and generators from Germany to the UK.
Services available include end-to-end materials management and tracking, freight negotiation and carrier cost maintenance, logistics process analysis and optimization, complete documentation, coordination of cargo inspections, inland transportation and scheduling, and supervision of heavy lifts, outsized and hazardous cargo, port operations and job-site unloading and checking.
Also provided are project engineering services, including professional route surveys, method statements and infrastructure-related engineering calculations, as well as technical methods for lifting and positioning heavy equipment.
